Frequently Asked Questions

What is AWAKHUMA?

AWAKHUMA is a meditation app focused on collective presence and shared silence. Unlike traditional meditation apps, there are no guided voices or music—just pure silence, experienced alone or together with others around the world.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can use AWAKHUMA fully without an account. Creating an optional account allows you to sync your meditation data across devices.

When are the collective sessions?

Three times daily at fixed UTC times: Dawn (06:00 UTC), Midday (12:00 UTC), and Dusk (20:00 UTC). The app shows these times in your local timezone.

Is AWAKHUMA free?

Yes, completely free. We offer optional "pay what you feel" contributions for those who wish to support the project, but this is entirely voluntary and doesn't unlock any features.

How do I delete my account?

If you created an account, go to the Journey tab, tap on your profile, and scroll down to find the "Delete Account" option. This will permanently remove all your data from our servers.

Does the app work offline?

Solo meditation sessions work fully offline. Collective sessions require an internet connection to see the participant count and sync with others.

What do the phases (Seed, Root, Heart, Light) mean?

These are symbolic representations of your meditation journey. As you accumulate time in silence, you naturally progress through these phases. There's no competition—it's simply a reflection of your presence over time.
